The award is presented every year to a family who provides special support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The presentation occurred at the annual Pathways Client Achievement Award ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Englewood, CO. We made some glittery sea shells and a Hawaiian Seascape. We also played pineapple bowling and a shell memory game along with some fun group games. They have provided over 600 hours of volunteer effort over the past few years and have been a great source of fun and encouragement to the children who attend our programs. You can also access their website with the link above.</p> <p>K-Life is a community-wide, interdenominational Christian ministry of discipleship and fellowship for youth and their families. Through a variety of activities (weekly clubs, small group Bible studies, mission trips, ski trips, and monthly events), K-Life kids grow in their faith and have lots of fun in the process. They made some crafts with the Olympics in mind such as a snowball soap surprise, a sports bottle, and a laurel wreath. They also enjoyed making an Olympic Torch snack. The games were especially fun with indoor speed skating, sock hockey, snowboarding and ice fishing.</p> <p>The kids enjoyed some fun group competition which was opened with an opening ceremony march to the Olympic theme following by a race by five teams to create the Olympic rings. They started out by strapping on a tool belt and then they built and painted their own bird houses, then took a brown bag lunch break, followed by a series of games involving demolition, construction truck races, paint brush tosses.
